Although growth in global average temperature is sometimes called "global warming", climate change includes not only a change in average temperature, but also changes various aspects of weather such as wind types, quantity and type of precipitation, and the kind and frequent extreme weather events. Climate change is a serious problem, because both natural and the social-economic systems are sensitive to climate changes and the magnitude and speed they expected to have a significant impact, which will threaten the sustainability of these systems.

Ecosystems, wildlife and people are able to adapt to climate change occurring over periods of time. Until now, researchers have not agreed about the rapidity with which changes take place. Motivation to act in connection with climate change should not necessarily found in what the world has seen before, but in terms of scientific models to anticipate the near future. If the heating process will continue in rate forecast today, the world will enter a period of climate change unprecedented in human history.
