In the field of transport, TERRA Mileniul III Foundation's current activities focus on public participation in the environmental impact assessment procedure concerning projects in the transport infrastructure, in order to reduce their negative social and environmental impact. Also, TERRA Mileniul III supports the community affected by the Basarab overpass project in Bucharest, in order to halt its construction.

According to the project proposed by the City Hall of Bucharest, the Basarab overpass is part of a city roads modernization and rehabilitation programme. This programme aims to correct current deficiencies in urban traffic and to allow for an optimum, comfortable and safe ground level traffic.
The Basarab overpass project would make a car and tram connection between the N. Titulescu and Orhideelor Streets by over crossing the train lines, thus completing the median traffic ring in its North-Western part. The overpass consists of a 1,529 m bridge area and a 276 m access way area. The project is to be completed within 28 months and the anticipated cost is EUR 178 millions. [more]
